HIRES Data Support (m/f/d)

The High-resolution spectroscopy and Polarimetry section is looking for a Postdoctoral young researcher (m/w/d) with the following duties:
• Monitoring and maintaining the spectroscopic data reduction pipelines
• Quality control of the final data products
• Creating and maintaining a new spectroscopic data release portal
• Basic exploitation of the spectra: radial velocity, stellar parameters, abundances
• Supporting users of the spectroscopic data products

Your profile:
• PhD degree in astrophysics or a related discipline at the time of starting the position
• Solid experience in high-resolution spectroscopy including data reduction and data analysis using a state-of-the art optical spectrograph
• Experience in using data from the STELLA Échelle Spectrograph (SES)
• Experience of data analysis using python
• Experience of using SQL databases, preferably postresql, and interfacing them using py-thon
• Programming experience with python, C, C++, Fortran

The appointment will be initially for 24 months, and can start immediately after the selection process is finished.
