Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) in X-ray astronomy

The Leibniz-Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) invites applications for a
Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) in X-ray astronomy
The researcher will work in the framework of a DLR-funded project Accreting
compact white-dwarf binaries (CWDBs). The project aims to exploit observations from the ESA
observatory XMM-Newton that are either already performed or will be scheduled in the near
future.
The postdoc will be responsible for the processing, scientific analysis, and
publication of X-ray data (timing and spectroscopic analysis) and contemporaneous optical or
UV data (spectroscopy and photometry). The activities of the researcher are embedded in a
group that actively participates in the eROSITA mission and the XMM-Newton Survey Science
Centre. The group is involved in follow-up programs of eROSITA sources with SDSS-V and
4MOST. The successful applicant will become member of the German eROSITA collaboration.
